Evidence / Question & answer

How is an NDE different from a vision?

An NDE classification concerns an experience reported in connection with a near-death context. A vision is a claimed revelatory experience and need not involve a medical crisis. The author’s own classification should not be silently replaced.

Context and limits

Bill Wiese’s ministry calls his account a vision, and Mary K. Baxter’s publisher describes visions. They can be examined as visionary literature, but they must not inflate the number of medically situated cases. Neither label authenticates the claimed destination.
